Engaged/ Amanda & William

2016-07-20_0001Sometimes our clients have a vision of what they want their engagement session to look like and of course we have to listen to them, because they have been dreaming of these photos for quite a while and tend to know what environment fits their personalities/relationships. This particular couple asked us to follow them to a mountain side at sunrise before we took a few photos in downtown Birmingham and we immediately said yes! That sentence alone sounds like a photographers dream! Amanda & William are getting hitched next May and when we made contact initially, William knew exactly where they had to have their session.  He was right on the money too because the location was perfection! The location honestly felt like we were no where near Birmingham but somewhere on vacation. It was breathtaking.

William began to explain how he proposed and we were so impressed by his attention to detail. (We were not surprised since he has been so detail oriented and fantastic through our many emails.)  He basically pulled of one of the sweetest engagements we have ever heard of.

It all went down on Easter weekend when Amanda’s parents invited the couple to their house in Troy for some family time. To cover up the staging of the surprise engagement William and Amanda’s father went to “hang tree stands in the woods” William then came back to the house and wanted to show Amanda his amazing skills in tree stand hanging…(aka propose to the love of his life!).  Amanda at first was apprehensive to go as it was raining out but after some convincing William finally got her to venture into the woods with him where he had set up a romantic backdrop for the big question he was about to ask. He hung photos of them between trees of some of their favorite dating memories and the one in the middle was a photo of the couple with Amanda’s late Grandmother in it- which was very special to her. Below the photo collage laid a box that William asked Amanda to open. Inside the box was a hollow egg shell that said “Crack me” on it when cracked open the egg revealed a small note that said “Amanda will you marry me?”

They are just the sweetest. We truly enjoyed being around this couple and just being in the presence of the love they share for one another. We hope you enjoy this preview of their engagement as much as we loved taking them.
